Where to find great pizza?

My parents are coming up from AL this coming weekend, and have requested that we go out Saturday night for some really good pizza.  So, where do you suggest we go?  I live in Butler County, but don't mind driving wherever.  Problem:  they're old, and complain about stupid things, so preferably somewhere fairly clean, with no smoking, and no loud ( Read more... )

i would suggest Fiori's on West Libery ave but i don't think your parents would like it too much.

my aunt & uncle took me to this place called Tomatoe Pie right by North Park. It was really cute!

Any of the three or four places on Murray in Squirrel Hill or if you randomly find yourself in the South Hills, find your way to Fiori's.

oo.. the rare Butler County question. :-) Personally, I'm partial to Monte Cello's. I know that the Zelie location is non-smoking (because they don't serve alcohol), but don't hold me to that on the Cranberry (or any other) location.

In my experience, Mineo's is kind of an experience, but not everyone loves the pizza. (I think it depends on what you expect out of pizza, really, since everyone has a different type of sauce and cheese and crust. I grew up on Mineo's, so of course I think it's the best ( ... )

Hm. This might be a good choice. Actually my mom requested 'authentic Italian pizza', and I was like, 'but that's not... um... okay, I'll see what I can find.' They're just used to Pizza Hut and Dominos being the norm. =]

I would happily claim Mineo's as significantly better than Pizza Hut and Dominos. :)

They also have a range of other stuff - a couple of pastas, a side salad thing, garlic bread, sometimes soup. And the desserts are from... I think USA Gourmet? So they're really good. I forget who supplies the ice cream. ('cause if I'm going for pizza, normally ice cream is a bit much to finish with, y'know? :)

My mom also suggests as options any of the Italian places over in Bloomfield. I know a lot of people go to Del's particularly for the pizza. (I'm not that in love with the pizza, but they do have very good Italian otherwise.) That's more of a proper restaurant type setting - no loud music, but it can be a bit noisy if it's very busy.
