And it should be noted - if someone comes to your door trying to sell something and you feel that they are illegitimate, make careful note of their appearance (The color of their Skin, Hair, Shirt and Pants), anything they are carrying and what direction they go when they leave your house, then call 911 and report it.

The police don't take kindly to pushy door-to-door salesmen.

I think these people came to my house. Offered advertising and getting a free system or something. I really didn't pay attention to him though.

They've been in Mt. Washington too. We made note that they're wearing badges that state that they're licensed "peddlers" and the kid took the time to show us his ID.

Also over the weekend another group came through claiming to be from GE offering to upgrade existing security systems to wireless ones. The pitch was almost identical to the APX guy.

I encountered two very pushy, younger African-American guys in Squirrel Hill about two weeks ago. They tried to sell us an alarm system while we were walking on the sidewalk, towards a house (not ours). It was rather strange, to say the least, to be approached that way.

Did they say they were from Apex? If so, the Apex link asks that you contact them (contact info on the link), as they're engaged in legal action against these guys.

If not, I would say that you should follow lildobe's advice. Actually, either way, I think you should follow lildobe's advice.

Yep. Apex uniform. (Read my blog entry about it. I wrote it right before I saw this, btw!)

He said some fucked up stuff and tried to use scare tactics with me. Very shady.

I will do all of that!
