i also cherish all the memories of fred, i grew up with him also. i want to buy all the dvd's videos and puppets so when / if i have children, they can have the same friendly entertainment, instead of watching BRATZ :)

I wore a sweater today but it does not have a zipper!!

The thing about him was though he was dorky, he was so damn genuine. You could tell he meant the things he said. There was no subterfuge about him at all, no ulterior motives. What you saw is what you got.

One of my parent's friends met Fred Rogers at the mall once and he thanked him for his show and the impact it had on his children. "Thank you, Mr. Rogers," he then said.

Mr. Rogers replied, "No, thank you. It's nice to have people like you in my neighborhood."
