hello,

my loss-of-touch with livejournal reflects a larger, more infortunate trend i have experienced: i've been disappointed with my efforts to stay in contact with friends.  i mean, i certainly assume a sense of mutual understanding--everyone is doing their own thing in a sort of solidarity with each other.  but, i still wish i would devote more ( Read more... )

Where do you find the time to read what's close to the entire creative output of Thomas Wolfe!? Those things are huge. I haven't made it past Of Time and the River myself, but his first novel is one of my favorite books, and Ben Gant one of my favorite literary characters. I thought for a while about making last summer my summer of Thomas Wolfe, reading basically what you've listed, but there was too much else I wanted to get to, so kudos to you (I hate the word "kudos", but it seemed appropriate).

Summer should be fun. Or terrible. It could be boring and terrible. But it'll be nice to see everyone again, you included.

On another note, I've heard that the short stories of John Fitzsimmons, good though they are, don't really hold a candle to his poems, which are apparently more expressive and emotionally honest. Most are about his bad teenage moustache.

I am humbled by your apparent time management skills, as I have certainly not made time to read enough on my own. I've been reading up on sustainability, and besides making changes in my college life, will also strive to be sustainable this summer. Not sure how I will implement this as I won't be home. PS: By Fitzy, do you mean F. Scott or the person Greg said?

i actually meant dan fitzgerald--marquette basketball extraordinaire, and phantom grandson of the late f. scott.

yeah, i'm not so good at time management i guess. i've also lost a lot of motivation this past semester though. i have started probably 20 books this year and haven't found the motivation to finish any of them :(
yeah i just want to chill and see all the fun people i enjoy being around this summer. (that includes you).
are your finals the week after this?
