Tim Buckley, the author of the Ctrl-alt-del comic, is going to be giving a lecture at rpi on the 19th.

So a mac and a pc, both prebuilt, with nearly exactly the same parts. Cost of mac: $3299. Cost of PC: $1099. I'd provide links but I lost them.

My computer died. Motherboard decided to stop working during any kind of boot. That's what I get for buying a cheapass one. Oh well. I had hoped it would last the year, but eh, this is pretty close, and at least I still have my lappy.

I'll add it to my collection of dead motherboards. It'll be number 4.
