The long run, I discovered after doing more reading, is both the most important part of marathon training and the part that ruins most people's training. As I write this, it is pouring with rain outside and therefore "preventing" me from going from the 5 mile run which was in my schedule for this morning. I'm sure it says something for me that I'm happy to ramble on at some length about marathon training rather than actually do any just because it's raining but I can't quite work out what that ( Read more... ) -

New Year Resolutions - Update
It's been a fair few months since I put up my five New Year Resolutions. I didn't quite make it to the sixth one as I decided that buying a Porsche was not only not going to happen but wasn't really a very good resolution anyway.

New Year's Resolution No 1 completed
Exam started at 8:55am.
9:25am clicked finish and was informed that I'd passed
Quick jig and disapproving look from other examinee in the room and I'm on my way back to the office.
I like modern exams, much less stress and now I just wait for the bit of paper that tells me that I've done good

I'm fairly racing through these - turns out writing about them is easier than doing them. The weight one might have run into a couple of obstacles in the form of a pub lunch and a few pints yesterday followed by another pub lunch (Happy Birthday Holly!) today and my new creation for dinner - sausage and baked bean risotto. Ben More and Stob Binnein
A novelty! Not only is it less than a year since my last LJ post but this one isn' one of the three peaks. However, I have some spare time and thought I would maybe try to write short accounts of all the 3000+feet mountains.
