Homies - I am still alive.  I just ain't been posting.  Here's an update of what's been rocking my socks in the last month since I updated proper.

• The man monkey's Stag do in Manchester dressed up as a cardinal.
• Weekend at Center Parcs with my family
• 10th wedding anniversary - cooked lobster thermidore, went to corporation and followed it with St.

We had one brilliant lesson, where the advanced grades went through Heian Shodan, but rather than stepping forwards, we stepped backwards. Suddenly all the bunkai made perfect sense, and it was a revelation for me. It was all the better that it was a basic kata that I've been doing for >15 years, and I can still learn stuff from it.

Then we had a lesson where we worked on Bassai Dai - a basic bog standard lesson that I've done hundreds of times before.

Isn't it amazing how different two senseis' approaches can be?
