Saturday I made breakfast for the 'rents and myself, then went to CVS, Aromatic Infusions, and Rouse's. I skipped the carwash, it was rainy. Just enough to make my car even dirtier with muddy/oily road spray, but not enough to wash off some of the dust. Sigh

Aaah lovely donuts! I've never made 'em yet, working with frying oil scares the daylights out of me, but badly want to try. PB and bacon is genius.
The others look lovely too. Not being from the south, Mississippi pot roast is a new concept to me. KAF has such great recipes. A few years back they went through all of their bread recipes and figured out which ones would benefit from adding the Tangzhong method, and added it to the recipes that needed it. I LOVE that they actively update their recipes.

Oh, my doughnuts are baked. Much as I love a good fried doughnut, I don't want to deal with cleaning up all the oil afterwards. Although I will make an exception for beignets, because they're worth it.

I always prefer homemade icing, the canned kind tends to be too sweet and also it doesn't taste enough like chocolate or vanilla or whatever it's supposed to taste like.
