Well, he has been seeing Emma for three years, and he was seeing her exclusively for over half a year before they were officially monogamous. I'd say that's a long time. And given Michael's track record -- that is, he hasn't actually dated anyone since Hogwarts -- choosing to be in a relationship at all is a pretty big deal. It's not something he's ever taken lightly; he never saw the point of dating a person he couldn't see himself with. To me, at least, it's seemed anything but quick ;)

Welp. It's been four months. And part of that is that I haven't had time to scene. But you'll notice the words Michael didn't say out loud. He hasn't said them to anyone yet. Even so, he's not unaware of his feelings at this point. He's just not in any hurry about them.
