Enjoying my Day After Thanksgiving NOT Shopping.

Nov 25, 2011 01:15

Why would I want to go out shopping in the middle of the night or even early the next morning after Thanksgiving? You couldn't pay me to fight for a parking spot, then battle a crowded store with lunatic shoppers! If I need to buy something, I can wait and even pay a little more in a few days or even online.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Last year I went to Mac connection and the parking situation was fine. I wanted to go this year again because they give away stuff to the whoever wind the raffle, which is free to enter. This year I went to Sport Chalet. Again, at 5AM, parking is fine. Spent $300 on a tent (maybe I'll take up the hobby of camping out in front of storea next year), and those funky Vibram five fingers glove/shoes. I love black Friday. It sounds like such a sinister thing, having the word black in it.

I avoid Black Friday by virtue of doing most of my shopping during the year when items are on sale as a matter of course.

No kidding. Day after Thanksgiving sales are for people who can't do the math. :)

I went to WalMart last night (Friday, 5 PM, on the way home from work) for a new gaming headset, necessity, you know, and it was the most empty I have ever seen it. No lie. I guess everyone had spent all their money, already.
