Fox Noise on the Good Ship Lollipop

May 22, 2009 04:59

melannen over on Dreamwidth has cooked up what has to be the world's most bizarre crossover art: MSNBC pundits in Star Trek, with Keith Olbermann, Capt. Rachel Maddow, and a couple of others flying around on the USS Bill of Rights (sounds like a ship straight out of Andromeda, of the same class as the Continuation of Politics and Salient Debate-- yes, ( Read more... )

God, OF COURSE this is perfect! (Captain Mara and her harem! The shock collar! The political officer!) now I kind of wish I knew the Fox News folks well enough to write them.

Also, this ship's crew would fit right it to the Start Trek Mirrorverse - Imperial Star Ship Enhanced Interrogation - as well as a Star Destroyer; I am tempted to make it so in Pundit Trek canon. Now I kind of wish I knew the Fox News folks well enough to write them into a mirrorverse episode. (There is a terrible transporter accident! People are switched! Lieut. Colmes manages to grab on to Lieut. Stewart at the last minute and stow away back to Bill of Rights! Havok is wreaked in all quarters! Lieut. Cmdr. Olbermann has an actual, honest to god heart attack from yelling so much! Stehpan manages to play his mirrorverse counterpart so well that even his own crewmates start to have doubts! Rachel asks Mara if she can borrow a shock collar for Tweety! And then they have sex ( ... )

Thank you! (Now see what you made me do? ;)

Yes, make it so in Punditverse! They're all yours to abuse as you please. I love the Mirrorverse idea! Somewhere in the midst of things, Mort Kondracke spends so much time arguing with and contradicting himself and "well, on the other hand"-ing, he looks up four hours later and wonders where everybody went. (He's like Staff Fencepost. He's not the only moderate, just the most terminally indecisive one. And everybody walks over him. I'm glad Barnes is more or less gone, because the way he treated his "longtime friend" was very bullying, and very painful to watch. ) And Bill Kristol starts yelling for more boom. And Mara lets Rachel zap him one. And then they have sex. (Oh god, I lack the words for how much I liked *that* part ( ... )

So... would you be willing to un-lock this post, or at least willing to let me re-post the relevant bits with credit to you, for purposes of shared universe? fakenews_fanfic has just posted a shared universes challenge for summer, and I'd love to see if I can find someone else there who loves the idea of the Enhanced Interrogation and the folks on it, and send them your way ( ... )

Hmm. Sure, go for it. I suspect the channel will alienate most people on that comm, though. Still, if someone wants to play with it, that would be awesome.

Interesting comm, btw, I joined and have been reading some of the fic (including one with the characters as zoo animals that made me laugh my ass off because they made Hannity and O'Reilly rhinos. While being completely unspoiled for the existence of RINO as an insult. Ha!). I'm still trying to figure out all the fanon. It's a lot different than what I did back in 2003-2004ish, even when I wrote crack, I tried to make it as canon-compliant as I could. This looks a *lot* more experimental. Which could be a lot of fun, if I could wrap my head around it (Colbert breaks my brain, though).

I don't mind that it's political! I agree with those people way more than I disagree with them, so it's all good. I'm watching Rachel right now, inspired by all the fic goodness. Are there any specific fics you'd recommend?

He doesn't have a decision-making problem, he thinks the only solution worth a damn is shooting the shit out of anything that moves.

I am at work, and I am wheezing I am laughing so hard.
