My theory on Series Four arc words and random comments by RTD

More than likely been posted before but I like to think I think uniquely

The Medusa Cascade has to do with destroying planets.

Partners In Crime - 'What do you mean lost? How can you lose a planet?'
Fires of Pompeii - 'What d'you mean, 'gone'? Where's it gone?' 'Pyrovillia is lost'

Might not ( Read more... )

crazyness, douglas adams, rtd, river song, dw, bees, theory, pinkalarmclock, dw episodes, weapons, darkness, davros, medusa cascade, hahahaha

If I remember "Rose" correctly, the Nestene Consciousness' breeding planet was destroyed during the Time War, which is why they came to earth ( ... )

Wow, someone actally read it!

Actally, that's probably true. A few weeks ago I had a whole list of references thought out, but they've compleatly gone out of my head. I just had to scrabble around for ones I thought were real - guess I was wrong! Fanks for pointing that out :)

I've read somewhere that the Cascade may be a rift in time (maybe we'll get Torchwood 4? Nope, that's just wishful thinking...) so if so Davros could be. But probably not by his real name - or if it's so, we won't get to hear it - since we haven't heard it in 30 series, I doubt we'll get it now.

Oooh, do we get more K9? These last few eps are going to be like 'The Doctor : This is your 2005+ Life' aren't they!

That would be a good premise for all of them to get together - and Mickey's got to follow Rose through like the good tin dog he is and probably put the whole universe in danger. Yay!

I think the Cascade is definitely a place, not a weapon, though I also think something could be up with it that would allow it to be used as a destructive force.

My theory was also that Davros was sealed there, or that it was similar to the tear in time and space (or whatever it was, I forget) in Doomsday, and that it had re-opened and this was why Rose (as someone who 'belongs' in this universe) was leaking through every so often.

Of course, the Doctor wanted to take Donna there, did he not? Doesn't exactly sound like Center Parcs if these theories hold any water. "Hey! Let's go see Davros, you'll love him." Could it just be what the Doctor is going on a shuttle to see next week? Letdown!

Perhaps it's a Rift like in Cardiff, but on another planet. Maybe even another Universe? Rose's Universe? Maybe it's all linked back to the Torchwood Tear and thats why she can ghost-walk through worlds.

Haha that could be fun :P
I'd watch that :P

That's what I was thinking.

Of course I'm not well-versed in Pretend Skience, so I'm probably way off the mark. We shall see soon, though! I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so scared.

Haha - we're probably all COMPLEATLY wrong and the Medusa Cascade is a nudist beach in Cornwall.

Hey, it's RTD - you never know.

I will actally be so sad when this series ends.....we have to wait till two thousand and TEN! And with no Torchwood to bridge the gap :(

I'm not sure about the Medusa Cascade, although it sounds like a very plausible arc. I had a huge theory a while back, ever since that Mid-Series trailer came out, but I forgot to LJ post about it.

Okay, my theory for the Series 4 arc is simple. Darkness.
In the trailer, Stars are going out. That means no light = Darkness.
Rose tells Donna what's coming, "The Darkness"

And because RTD said it links back to a previous episode, the Toclafane mention it too. "The Darkness, the never-ending Darkness". But y'know, they were talking about the end of the Universe....

It's because the arc is always a word, sin't it? (Bad Wolf, Torchwood, Vote Saxon), and I know RTD said this time, it'd be a little different. And mentions of darkness might work.... I dunno.

But yeah, that's my theory. I might post properly later.

Hey, its just a late-night boredom-fueled post. I've actally developed it a bit more based on dougs post here . Perhaps the Medusa Cascade has the power to create as well as destory?

Darkness could be a good one - you have practically every Torchwood episode as well! I doubt 'Darkness' is just it, but I think it's def linked in to whatever RTD's come up with.

Well, I'll read your post :P

I think its just a stop to make you watch the next episode. Posted by: Em | Jun PM For starters I paused the bit where You see the Doctors hand flash and pre regenerate , it appeared wrinkled , Tom Baker perhaps.

I've been thinking about missing planets quite a bit -- further thoughts, linking missing planets with children, here.
