Adam wandered around the party. It was New Year’s Eve 1999. He was twenty years old and alone. Of course, he had come to the party with friends, but they all had dates. He hadn’t dated anyone since Brad, his high school sweetheart. He’d gone out with a few other guys, but they were only interested in one thing…Sex! Adam liked sex just fine, but he wanted something more.
Adam was beginning to regret coming to the party. His friends were all paired off and ignoring him. He was sure that they weren’t doing it on purpose, but it didn’t hurt him any less. He should have just stayed at home like his mother wanted. She was sure that when the clock struck midnight, the world was going to end. Maybe not literally end, but she thought like many people that computers wouldn’t be able to function and thus the world would basically shut down. Adam didn’t believe that at all. How could two zeros change everything?
Adam left the loudness of the party and went outside. It was getting close to midnight. He decided that he would ring it in outside by himself. He really didn’t want to stay inside and watch everyone make-out at midnight. It was depressing to be starting the New Year alone.
“It’s almost midnight.” A voice spoke from behind Adam after he’d been outside for a few minutes.
Adam turned around to see who was talking to him. It was Tommy. He was a friend of a friend of a friend that Adam had met a few times before. He was twenty-one and played in a band. He had blonde hair and kissable lips. At least, Adam thought that they looked kissable. He’d never kissed Tommy. He didn’t even know if Tommy liked boys.
“I know. I don’t really want to be inside when midnight strikes though.” Adam replied.
“Me either. Everyone’s gonna be making out. It’s depressing when you have no one to kiss.” Tommy told him as he stood beside him.
“I thought you were here with that Mia girl.” Adam responded.
“No. Mia and I are just friends. I brought her because her boyfriend had to work late. He just showed up a few minutes ago.” Tommy explained.
“What about you? I thought you came with Brad…Isn’t that his name?” Tommy questioned.
“Yeah, but Brad and I are just friends. I mean we used to date, but we are better friends. He’s with Cassidy now.” Adam told him.
“Maybe we should kiss at midnight.” Tommy suggested as he took a step closer to Adam.
“Really?” Adam croaked as his voice cracked. He was shocked that Tommy had suggested it.
“Yeah. I’ve been thinking about kissing you since I met you at that concert a few months ago.” Tommy declared with a smile.
“You have?” Adam questioned quietly.
“Yep. Your lips look so soft and I love those freckles on them.” Tommy answered moving even closer to Adam. “They look so kissable.”
Adam laughed at Tommy’s last remark. Tommy looked at him questioningly.
“I’m sorry. It’s just that I’ve wanted to kiss you since I met you as well. When you came out here, I thought about how kissable your lips looked.” Adam explained with a smile on his face.
“Well, since we both have such kissable lips we have to kiss at midnight.” Tommy stated with a chuckle.
Adam and Tommy looked into each other’s eyes. From inside, they heard the countdown start. They moved closer. Slowly, they brought their lips nearer to one another. As the countdown neared one, Adam licked his lips. Tommy did the same.
As soon as they heard the cheers from inside, Adam and Tommy mashed their lips together. There was no hesitation. They opened their mouths and allowed their tongues to duel. Quickly, their hands found each other’s bodies. They pulled at one another trying to get closer.
“Do you wanna get out of here?” Tommy asked when they broke the heated kiss a few moments later.
“Yes.” Adam breathed as he nipped at Tommy’s lips.
Tommy took Adam’s hand and led him out front. They didn’t go back inside. Quickly, they started to walk down the street. Tommy explained that his apartment was on the next block over.
Once they were inside Tommy’s apartment, Adam pushed him into the wall and kissed him passionately. As they continued to kiss, they began to pull at each other’s clothes. Adam removed Tommy’s shirt and ran his hands along his chest. Tommy moaned and reached to pull Adam’s shirt off as well.
“I don’t do causal hook ups.” Tommy declared before leaning down and taking one of Adam’s nipples into his mouth.
“Me either.” Adam replied as he tangled his hands in Tommy’s hair.
Tommy grabbed Adam’s hips and turned them around. He pushed Adam into the wall and dropped to his knees. Swiftly, he undid Adam’s pants and pushed them down. He kissed all over Adam’s stomach and then looked up at him. Their eyes locked and they smiled at each other.
“Please.” Adam pleaded with his voice and his eyes.
Tommy didn’t say anything. He just leaned forward and took Adam into his mouth. Adam groaned and gripped Tommy’s hair tighter. Tommy did everything right. In no time, Adam screamed his name and came down his throat. Tommy sucked his gently through his orgasm and then let him slip from his mouth. Adam was panting with his head thrown back. He realized his hold on Tommy’s hair. Tommy kissed his way up Adam’s body. He pulled Adam’s lips into a searing kiss when he reached them.
“I want you so much, Adam. I want to be inside you so bad.” Tommy whispered in Adam’s ear as he rubbed his body against Adam.
“I’ve never…never done that before.” Adam breathed as he still tried to catch his breathe.
“You’ve never had sex before?” Tommy asked as he backed away a little.
“No. I’ve had sex before. I’ve never been the bottom before.” Adam explained with a little giggle.
“Oh…Well, we don’t have to do that if you don’t want.” Tommy told him with a little sadness.
“No, Tommy, I want to. I want to be with you.” Adam replied as he leaned in to kiss him again.
Tommy kissed him back and began to lead him to his bedroom. Once they were in the bedroom, Tommy kissed Adam again and then pushed him down on the bed. Adam smiled at him as he removed the rest of his clothes. When Tommy was naked, he crawled on the bed with Adam. Their lips met again. They couldn’t stop kissing now that they had started.
As they continued to make out, Tommy reached over and rummaged around in his nightstand drawer. He found the lube and condoms and removed them. He left the condoms on the top of the stand and broke away from Adam. He coated his fingers generously with the lube and leaned over to kiss Adam again.
As Tommy kissed him, he slid one finger into him. Adam hissed from the intrusion. Tommy kissed him harder and pressed in a little further. The pain quickly turned to pleasure for Adam. He gripped the sheets in one hand and Tommy’s arm in the other. He moaned as Tommy continued to devour his mouth.
By the time Tommy had three fingers inside Adam, he thought he was going to lose his mind. Adam had never felt so good in his life. He was gently rocking his hips as Tommy spread him open with his slick fingers. He was hard again as well.
“Tommy…I…I can’t…take it…anymore. I need…you…inside me now.” Adam demanded.
Tommy kissed him one more time and removed his fingers. He reached for a condom and tried to open it. It was difficult with his fingers still covered in lube.
“Let me.” Adam stated as he took the package from Tommy and tore it open.
Adam reached between them and rolled it on Tommy. Tommy moaned at the sensation. Once it was on, Tommy coated himself with some lube and lined himself up with Adam’s entrance.
“Just tell me if you want me to stop…If it hurts too much…I don’t want to hurt you.” Tommy told him as started to slide into him.
Adam threw his head back and gasped in pleasure at the feeling of Tommy filling him. When Tommy was in, he stayed still for a few moments to let Adam adjust to the feeling. Adam leaned up and captured Tommy’s lips in a passionate kiss. Tommy took that as his cue to move. He thrust into Adam slowly. He wanted it to last.
“Tommy…Faster…Harder…Please.” Adam begged as he gripped Tommy’s hips and dug his fingers in.
Tommy grunted and followed Adam’s instructions. He thrust harder and faster. He knew that he was close so he reached between them and took Adam’s erection into his hand. He stroked him in time with his thrusts. In a matter of moments, both men came with each other’s names shouted.
Tommy collapsed on top of Adam and panted. Underneath him, Adam had a pleased look on his face as he tried to catch his breathe as well. Several minutes later, Tommy finally came back to his senses enough to carefully remove himself from Adam and roll off of him. He removed the condom and threw it on the floor. Adam sighed at the loss of contact and rolled over to cuddle up to Tommy.
“Now that sure was one hell of a way to ring in a new year.” Tommy declared as he wrapped an arm around Adam and lightly kissed his forehead.
“It’s the best way that I’ve ever spent a new year.” Adam told him before kissing his chest lightly.
“We have three hundred and sixty four days to figure out a way to top it next year.” Tommy stated with a smile.
“You were really serious about not doing causal hook ups, weren’t you?” Adam inquired as he looked up at Tommy.
“I was totally serious. I know that it’s too early to say love, but I think that it could go there for us. Don’t you?” Tommy asked as he brushed Adam’s hair out of his face.
“Yeah, I think it could.” Adam answered sweetly before leaning down to lightly kiss Tommy’s lips.
“The world didn’t end.” Tommy spoke when Adam broke the kiss.
“What?” Adam asked as he started to draw patterns on Tommy’s chest.
“Everyone thought that Y2K was going to be the end of the world, but it’s almost two in the morning and we’re all still here.” Tommy explained.
“I’m glad we’re here.” Adam responded before kissing Tommy again.
Adam and Tommy spent the rest of New Year’s Day in bed together. They lost track of how many times they made love. Adam did take the time to call his mother and let her know that he was okay. He teased her a little for believing in all the hype of Y2K.
