Hey all, what's up? Not much here. So Coco is now a Royal, huh? Not that I'm too upset about it. I'll miss the dude and I'll cheer him on against everybody but Boston. So yeah. He deserves a starting slot which wasn't gonna happen here. Ellsbury is younger and will become a better player in due time(though Coco has a slight edge right now....SLIGHT ( Read more... )

That was my guy right there. I knew there was a good chance he'd be traded this offseason, but...I didn't need this news today. Him deserving to be a starter is the ONLY positive thing I can see about this situation, as I think he made a damn good fourth outfielder for us. At 29, he's in the prime of his career, so I hope he makes his mark in Kansas City and gets that Gold Glove and anything else his heart desires.

:::misses Coco already:::

Yeah it'll suck but we'll be fine and Coco will do great out there. He's young still(even though everybody thinks he's older than he really is because he's been in the league for so long(he's younger than Youkilis!)) and deserves a few more seasons of starting.

I'm happy he showed a lot of class though about the whole platooning situation. It wasn't a situation he wanted to be in but he handled it like a pro.

For characters and all, Coco is a very underrated character. He was laid back for the most part but he's good with a quip or two, he got run over by the Mariner Moose in 07, has had milk poured on him twice, and so on and so forth.

Oh, I know he'll do great. And yes, he was very classy about the platoon. I know he's young, but he's grown enough that he can handle things with maturity.

The "character" side of him is something I'll definitely miss. I've seen pictures of the Moose moment, and I was aware of a milk-pouring incident (didn't know there were two!). I loved the everchanging hair and the flashes of goofiness. I also loved his interviews -- he's bright and he has a sense of humor. I also like how he's got a bit of street edginess combined with that beautiful smile.
