Writer's Block: Miss Manners

Ipods/mp3s. It drives me insane when I'm talking to someone and they've got one or both earbuds still in their ears like what I'm saying is so boring it has to have background music. It's also rude in a group of people when two people are sharing a music player - you know, each of them has an earbud in one ear. That really annoys me too.

I have to admit, I used to take my cassette/CD/mp3 player with me to school camp, so that I could listen to it on the bus (most of our school camps were at least 2 hours drive away, and I did not have many friends to talk to), or during free time/quiet moments (like before going to sleep when I wanted to relax).

But I can definitely agree with how annoying they are when they're turned up really loud - especially when there's more than one person who has it up loud, and each of them is listening to something irritating. I've always wondered how exactly you'd go about asking them to turn it down, but never bothered actually doing it (usually because I encounter these people on buses/trains, and I don't have to put up with them for long).
