I just saw a segment on 7.30 report about an artist who has spent a lifetime painting Lake Eyre. He was fortunate enough to witness it with water in the mid 70s. Having only seen the tip of the lake whilst on the Oodnadatta track, i was fascinated and in awe of it. I desperately want to go and see it now, in full bloom. There is some wonderful stuff to see on the way, Farina in particular. Lachie knows the area reasonably well but i am not sure how much of the Lake Eyre National Park he has seen. I am dead keen on spending a night at the Farina ghost town again, its really worthwhile (and it has hot showers). I dont think i could pass up Copley either, go introduce myself to the bakery staff and tell them about their crappy haulage contractor!

Now I just need to convince Lachie that 7 days playing on trains is enough solo time so he can make room for an Oodnadatta Track adventure for a few days.
