Working on the railway network has advantages. Between Eltham and Hurstbridge where the suburbs dwindle away and trees are plentiful, the well trained eye can spot the trees in fruit. Lachie collected over 20 kilos of peaches from the roadside last weekend and then took off to go blackberrying where he picked about 5 kilo. My Fowlers unit has been ( Read more... )

My Dad finds the same working on the local council. Abandoned houses with orchards; random trees on the side of roads; farmers who just drop boxes of things off for the men etc.
