I definitely prefer the second - I agree about the colours, and there is something about her face which looks a bit more kinetic.

ooh, kinetic, good word. :) Yeah, I like that about the second. I think the first is technically better, but I like the second better. I guess it doesn't matter. They're both mostly for my own amusement and family memories.

I don't see much difference between the pictures; I prefer the first one, but I'm not sure why.

Judging pictures is hard. It seems so arbitrary. I'm trying to be a bit more analytical about my photos so I can improve my composition.
