For the record this is my own slant on a situation and i am not complaining about anyones actions

- as far as i am aware the method set out below is perfectly valid for what was done and the dc deserves thanks for running a process not complaint for the manner of it -

However i am finding myself again becoming disenfranchised with a specific ( Read more... )

In the end, whilst I'm generally pretty active online, the obsession with IRC and email based rp was one of the things that really helped kill Cam for me. Yes, there are times when I liked having lots of rp going on, but I saw quite a lot of issues where people just weren't getting involvement because they weren't on the correct lists.

Anyway, there's a simple answer, come outside the M25 for once and give LoD a go :P

You know, Cambridge is already outside the M25.

Yep, which is my source of continual surprise at reading about his attendance...

It's not a very long drive - an hour and a half down the M11. It's still scary and many has been the night when I've thought we might not make it home through the cannibals, but we have made it.

I'm not sure how long our luck will hold, however.

I think Requiem doesn't really rely as much on email, but it's not OK that the Southwark elections *only* happened on that list. Elections should be announced to reach as many people as possible.

I do feel like if I stopped emailing about Lost stuff, I would fall behind. Less so for Requiem.

I tend to agree with you - the lost venue creates most of its dynamic tensions from online scenes as far as i can tell; one of the reasons i never really managed to properly enmeshed i fear.

Requeim by contrast does seem far more game centric - but that may be a projection as i know i am also more naturally a Requiem player.

It also varies from local game to local game.

There's a huge culture of online scenes in Lost, but it's also somewhat insular - I find it very hard to get e-mail scenes out of people a lot of the time.

If you aren't already heavily involved in the crazy emo-soap opera, people don't seem to want to know.

I don't know what Requiem's like in that regard, though - I can't even bring myself to sign up to the OD list or properly on the Cambridge Forum, but that's my own issues with the venue.

All elections should be announced on uk-announce.

It's kinda the point of the list.

I'd be furious about all this, to be honest.

I think cam interaction suffers hugely if you're not able/willing to be on a bazillion lists and IRC every waking moment. I know that 99.99999% of my really fun/useful vamp interaction came from lists/IRC. It also depends how involved you want to be outside your own game (bit different I guess now there's no america).

For the record, I still think you're bugnuts for standing! :P

I think you're a cool kid! I like you!

I do think Lost is very e mail centric. I'm currently running low on energy and cope and am not replying to e mails. I have a small and worried voice in my head telling me that soon no one will love me and I won't have cool kid friends anymore.

It's very hard to break into that circle of e-mail scenes, if you aren't one of the cool kids.
