Thank you for sharing this well written, entertaining story. The publishing house backdrop was well realized and these two men and Arthur's un-repressable crush were beautifully written . It was lovely to get a bit of back story for Arthur and that meeting with his father (on the arm of Flora - ick cubed!) and the news that Merlin had broken it off with the accountant believably made Arthur vulnerable and hopeful enough to finally make a move.

Merlin seductively talking Arthur into bottoming was white hot though I felt as gutted as Arthur when Merlin left and didn't acknowledge him the next day. Arthur was all needy and vulnerable and he'd opened himself up to the other man and then Merlin was a cad? Inconceivable! Thanks for making Merlin's explanation ring true to the situation. They hadn't talked about Arthur's crush and how much Merlin had come to mean to him. Merlin's earnest I just like you was apology and explanation enough ( ... )

I can NOT believe you managed to tie this all up in part 3, in an utterly satisfying and mind-blowing way. Guh. The sex. It was just... guh. I'm not used to being left speechless... This was everything promised and better.

Gwen was awesome and kick-ass, and Merlin is perfect, so calm and competent and not-smug in his perfection. Knowing the security guard's name - knowing everyone who Arthur has shagged in the last 3 years... Knowing exactly how to draw out the best in Arthur, while at the same time drilling straight to his vulnerabilities. :)

Plus I still love the glimpses into the industry. :)

Huh! This is the second literary AU that I have read and loved in the last couple of months. (The other was in SGA, not Merlin). It is really lovely with all its characters and I rather liked that Arthur's bad behaviour at the beginning was really unashamedly appalling. When we love this pairing it's so easy to gloss that over.

I'm glad you didn't mind Arthur being a complete twat - he really was awful at the beginning of the show and I wanted to reflect that here, but show Merlin making him change.
