Well, there I was driving home on Friday from work...and a black cat ran across in front of my car, vanishing into the brush on the other side of the road in but a few moments. It's now Thrusday, and my computer is finally back to functioning. It seems a minor power surge flashed through my friend's rutor (which I use to connect to the internet) both damaging it and frying the ethernet connection on my mother board. This made it very hard to track down who the culprit was and repair it - espeicially since my Dragon motherboard seems to be a tad 'picky' about using any type of non-hardwired-to-it internet connection. Thankfully, my brother and sister-in-law are far more computer savvy than I, and managed to browbeat it into accepting the nice nick-card that I failed to introduce it to ( ... )

A year or so ago I had the same thing happen. I didn't brake in time and that cat didn't finish crossing my path. It really was unlucky..for the cat. :(
