Pre-Championship Cross-Country Party

Nov 03, 2005 21:29

Our cross-country team throws a pretty awesome party for it just originally being a "pasta dinner." Almost everyone was there at one time or another with the exception of Taiki, Matt, and Karla, I believe. I had some fettucini Alfredo, Gatorade, and bread for the main course, and some moist cake for dessert. Everyone was all weird and giggly the ( Read more... )

... Is it just me or is that really really odd? A pasta dinner? For runners? heh It's just that.. isn't pasta one of the fattiest things you can eat? Mainly due to the sauce.. and the pasta itself isn't helpful..

I don't really care.. haha.. just strikes me as odd. Odd in the sense like.. a bunch of olympic athletes pausing from working out to enjoy a nice McDonald's double cheeseburger and chocolate shake, heh.

Pasta is pretty good for runners, but they normally eat it the night before the race, since it takes a while for the energy to be released.

Mike stated it plain as day, yes. Shows how much you know about running :P. Pasta and spaghetti is THE number one thing to eat the night before the race. It has lots of carbohydrates, which are energy. But no, McDonald's is not a place where we'd pause to eat, haha.

Championship, huh? Your team and my team should compete somehow. Hehe, I hope that your team does as well as ours did (League Champs [basically means best in city, because our league has all the good schools]).

Ttys, I hope!

Well, that must suck. I can't figuire out what else to use to compare it. Only thing I can think of is one of our runners went to state, and won both the 100m and 200m!!! That hasn't been done in the last 20 years, I think. Also, another runner we have is the fastest in the US, hehe. I forgot in what event though.... >.< *slaps self*

It doesn't really suck. At least we don't have TOO much competition!

Well if have to say if I was a dog with a fondness for legs, a bunch of guys playing DDR would probably get me very excited indeed.
