17 1/2 hours into FF13 and I finally have to grind. I think I missed grinding. Dragon Age was far too easy on me.

But... I liked that, too.

And say nothing of the fact that my first Dragon Age play-through was on "casual" .... shh.

The plethora of save crystals is also good for me, because I tend to forget to save... and then something will happen, like I'll be stuck in an area where I need to defeat a boss but I'm not a high enough level, but I can't leave... and my last save was 6 hours ago.... that happened to me the most in FF8.

There are sidequests... eventually. I keep hearing about them. Elusive, rare, on the endangered species list... I think they start popping up in the second half of the game.

Vanille & Hope .. argh. Hope matures a bit, it's a very welcome change. I definitely enjoy the crystal upgrading too~ and I'm right there with you on missing towns. You still get to talk to some people and overhear NPC conversations.. but it's just not the same.
