The Friend of my Friend is my Enemy? shadow_vagabond May 14 2006, 17:39:29 UTC
One of the main reasons I kind of did my own project was the huge amount of rejection one gets from just meeting and adding people.

Do people in cyberspace like staying in their "controlled environments?"

How selective must this generation be?
"If you're in this country illegally, then you're breaking the law!"

"If you're not my friend, you're a stranger! I don't talk to strangers!"

"Unfriend me, please?" As if, you could unplug a relationship at will.

The reactions to sable were a whole lot more interesting than sable itself I'm afraid.

During my ruse, it was funny to see folks fall off the fringe into confusion.

Also, many people found something about that journal so interesting. What was so interesting?
What did I find so interesting about such nonsense?

When did becoming a friend of a friend earn an enemy so quickly?

They're interesting questions indeed. More interesting is the fact that similar thoughts also crossed my mind. And so that is what i really meant by considering a new project - one that could maybe attempt to hold more answers to questions and thoughts like those.

Nice analysis.

As for the bot theory, I agree. I made a similar program. Here's some of its output:

What is Copyright Protection A fictional character must involve pretense false modesty theres a right way and a wrong Way Lyrics Keith Sweat picture photo sharing made easy Send your photos to friends Reunited UK Ireland The

It makes about as much sense as sable_debutante does. Maybe even more.

So, yeah. Now that I've actually taken the time to read through your post, I see you're saying this exact thing.

Sorry.

*bows* thank you. It started as a simple theory but it seems everyone has something to add...^_^
makes for interesting discussion...

Well, as I said, I thought it was a theory at first until I saw your link to dirtyfilthy's journal, which I had somehow completely missed despite you putting it in a large font. Put that down to over-enthusiasm, if you want. I didn't realise you had proof.

And yes, it is interesting. :D
