A while back I signed up to be on the White House list serve. I never have done this before, not under Clinton and would never have under Bush...no no. Just caught a bit of Obama's speech tonight. I was in and out tonight during this and did not see the start of it. One thing that annoys me about this is that I would like to see him speak uninterrupted and really hear the flow of his words. I guess in America we have the right to air our views but I have to say I am very disappointed in the opposition to Obama's speech about education and to the students of the USA. In a country where we lag behind the rest of the world in terms of learning and education when we should be leaders, it is about time a President sent this message. I ( Read more... )

It has been quite a night. I spent most of it in the Emergency Room at my local hospital. My friend fainted at work and we went there to get her checked out. That took hours and there were the usual assortment of people ranging from scary (man with bloody hand, totally drunk and raging) to very sick to kind of nice.
