For those of you who don't already know, Linda Sorrell (sp?) has convinced the owner of the cemetery that Jamez Norwood is buried at to let us anonymously donate a headstone. The owner said that this will protect us from any legal ramifications by the family and if someone does throw a fit, he will deal with it.It will cost us $1000 and we're ( Read more... )

Can we ask for the kids in his old fraternity to contribute, or is that too in the open for comfort with the potential for Mary to find out?

I hereby pledge $100 dollars. Flat out. I'll get it to ya when I see you.

The two phrases I keep thinking about painting on stones for his grave are kinda long, but they are my input nonetheless:

"Oh I've seen Fire and I've seen Rain,
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end,
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend -
But I always thought that I'd see you again."

"When you free fall, find if heaven waits."

Heya! Aongel said she posted a reply here about it, and you should know who I am. *psst, my mom is Linda, hint heehee*

Anyway, I vote for "Revel! Frolic!"

It's a bit long and "copyright"ish, but I'd also go for certain phrases from They Might Be Giants.

Thanks for the comments guys!Hello Michelle! :p I am ultimately leaving what the headstone says up to those who were closest to Jamez, I am just a vessel for the cause. Something to keep in mind though; the headstone is just going to be one of those 24x14 bronze plaques that sit down in the ground so we may not have very much room. Does anyone have a way to get in touch w/Mikal and that crowd? I might have his number at home but I will have to look. Much love.

Awesome guys! Angel: I dunno about asking his old fraternity. Do we have a way to get a hold of those who would have known him? Linda would probly be a better person to ask that question. But maybe we should just see how far we can take it with just friends first. Drew and I will be giving at least $100.
