People who mispronounce words - Especially when they use "Interpretate" instead of "Interpret". Someone clearly didn't pass English
People can have trouble speaking or saying certain words. I know I do, and I certainly passed English! XD I had to take Speech therapy too a few times. Also depends on accents and all and where people live too in how they say things. =/
That is true. Let me rephrase - It bugs me when people around me mispronounce words they should know better with ... I mean, words that are really obvious. Interpret/Interpretate being the main one that annoys me
( ... )
I'm probably taking it personal, since well...I say interpret the way that annoys you. And there is some words I can't even say at all, so it's kinda a sensitive spot for me. Since I don't like thinking people write me off just because I have a hard time saying certain words. More so I know I'm saying them wrong, but it's hard to say them right no matter how hard I try. XD;
I do understand where you're coming from, since it's such simple words people SHOULD know how to say them right? I just don't think it's that easy, plus it goes in where you're from and accents.
But I do get where you're coming from somewhat, so don't worry. I don't think you put your foot in your mouth.
Gah. Forgive me if I upset you then Issues. Like I said, it's not that I actively diss people who do mispronounce, it just ... frustrates me somewhat? Though, again, it can be endearing with some people. More like a quirk than anything else. And, I do actually know alot of people who say "interpretate" instead of interpret ... I think that's what annoys me more than people saying it - how common it is. Almost like the actual word is being buried under ignorance?? ! That's it. That's what bugs me. Not so much when people mispronounce words - more when they mispronounce it and not realise they're saying it wrong. That ignorance. It just makes me despair for English as a language.
Again, forgive me if I hit a sensitive spot. It wasn't my intention to upset anyone - least of all you. I adore you *hugs* - It is just a little something that frustrates at times.
