My weekend wasn't bad just tiring lots of studying and of course the recent DW episode just plagued my mind. It was just a bit chaotic in the Wilson household with my hubby on call and the kids suffering from "the back to school cold"
I haven't caught up on DW yet, been too busy. But I heard lots of people be very emotional about the last ep. Hope your week turns out better than the weekend *hugs*
I am glad you were able to find a climbing partner. You need to explore the mountains before the Winter sets in.
Well the Oktoberfest celebration is a good thing about living in Munich, no? Even better that it is within walking distance.
It sounds like a lot of fun. I know the many of my coworkers in the UK used to head on over for the weekend and not get back until Wed. They were the same ones that took ferries to Dublin on the eve of St Patrick's Day and weren't seen again until the following week.
"You need to explore the mountains before the Winter sets in." Nono, you can't even imagine how much I'm looking forward to Winter! I hope to spend every free minute on my snowboard now that I have the mountains nearby.
Yeah, Oktoberfest ist weirdly fun. For me as a non-Bavarian and a Prussian no less, it's a bit of a culture shock. Everyone is dressed in Lederhosen and Dirndl (traditional Bavarian clothing). And by everyone, I literally mean everyone. The only way to distinguish the tourists is by their footwear. They're the only ones who weear sneakers or flip-flops with their clothing. And it really does not matter what time of day you go into one of the beer tents, it can be 10am, noon, the afternoon or late at night, they're always packed, there's always a band playing and people dancing on the tables. So I can see how your coworkers might not have made it home on time. I'll also have to get used to drunk people in the subway at all hours, but coming from Berlin, that's not really that big of an adjustment *g*
That's right you are an avid snowboarder. I was thinking about climbing in the Winter. The mountains become a different sort of play ground for you. I am a beach girl myself, having grown up by them and living by them my entire life. Even in the UK I lived by the seashore. It is in my blood I suppose.
You'll have to visit as many of the different tents as you can and then tell us which one is the best. I am sure they are all fun. I think most big cities it is all about avoiding the vomit of drunk people on the late night subways. Fun...
It's weird, because the ocean is a lot closer to Berlin than the mountains and we have lots of lakes and water all around, but for some reason I've always been more of a mountain person. The fact that my parents have a place in Austria probably helped.
I'm starting my tent investigation this afternoon. My company has a table from 2:30-5:30 in one of the hip "celebrity" tents (whatever that means). Boyfriend will join us as soon as he gets into town, so it should be fun!
It's true about the late night vomit avoiding, the difference in Munich at the moment is that you have to look out for that at any time of day :)

A bubble bath and a glass of red wine (or two) sounds delightful.
