In the circumstances, a snappy header is too much to expect

I am in that distressing state where I am awfully bored and want to talk to someone or do something but have nothing to talk about and am too tired to move. Clearly there's no point talking about films, so scratch that off the agenda ... a meme it is, then.

Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you ( Read more... )

dollhouse, i have no tag for this, cats!, writing, stupid memes, sports night

You can so write. I have declared it.

What do I think of when I think of you? Some of the things are France; poetry; fanwives; riding; stupid boys, but no-one wants to hear about them, so let's have books instead.

And thank you, you are vvv kind, but very much in a minority these days.

Words!

Was that quiet enough? Actually I'm sure we've done this before, but I figured why not go round again.

That was very nice and quiet, thank you.

I think this is a variation on the 'ask me about my interests' meme, but LJ is so quiet these days that I'll jump on just about anything that may spark a bit of conversation. Well: motor sport, obviously; writing (always a safe choice); cats (ditto); Vienna; and opera. Asking about job centres or the NHS would be far too risky, I feel.

A wise decision...

I would be on the LJ writing words of my own...but I had to work late...and then watch Eleventh Hour, (though why I don't know! Since it was majorly disappointing.)...and then have a bath because I am as fat, ugly and hot as a rhino after aerobics...(only without the actual aerobics bit).

And you are a jolly good writer, may I say! Plus you have an EXCELLENT sense of humour, and your comments and wisecracks make me laugh more than anything else I read. (And yes, I do mean in an intentional way.)

And okay..."words" *G*

I don't know why I watch Eleventh Hour either, it's bum-numbingly dull. I suppose it whiles away an hour, and it's too hot to sleep. (Last night I gave up on my bedroom altogether and brought my duvet down to the sitting room because the downstairs is a good ten degrees cooler. Though still not actually cool.) (I slept on the duvet, not under it. And the cats were fascinated by the whole thing.)

I feel much about writing as I do about my alleged IQ - if I'm so smart, why cn't I get a decent job, and if I can write, why don't I get read? God, people don't even read my LJ any more, never mind my fic. It's all frustrating and dispiriting.

Anyway! You know, this meme doesn't actually specify that the words have to be one's interests, I could just throw out topics at random: 'green' and 'Arkansas' and 'spaghetti'. But! Let's go for Kew, magic, Modern Art (in capital letters), music, and, just for a laugh, housework.

Sod it, I just answered this at length, and then when I clicked "post comment" it came up with a "cannot display the webpage" screen and my comment is lost completely.

Bugger!!!!!

I'm paranoid enough that whenever I write a long comment I copy and save it all before I click post. Of course, it's the times I forget to do it when the computer hangs ...

Aw. Thank you. I wasn't really fishing - well, okay, maybe a bit - just having one of those 'meh' moments, only for 'moment' read 'the last 40 years or so'. Did I ever mention I'm really old, btw? I can't remember. I like to let people know, else it tends to come as a bit of a shock.

I think that one of my favourite things about Dollhouse, other than Dear Little Victor, is that, watching it the second time around, things start to fall into place. Like in the being-hunted-through-the-woods episode - for a show I like, I really should learn the episode titles - it wasn't originally clear how Hunter-Guy fitted in with Alpha's evol plans, but after seeing the last episode it became obvious that Alpha must've programmed him in his very own home-made chair. From which I deduce that Joss knows the ways of fandom, and knows that fans check for continuity and subtext and stuff. Mind you, he should do, the poor man's been over-analysed and meta'd half to death ( ... )

Are you implying I am a lazy slattern around the house? (if so you'd be spookily right)

Why, yes, yes, that's exactly what I was saying. Huh. No wonder I don't have many friends ...

Writing, game-playing (there may be a technical word for this, but take it to mean whatever it is you do), music, Wiltshire, debate. There!
