so your music night email prompted me to check in with you on lj and see what's been worth updating here in your life. this post made me really happy. i'm glad you're in this place. also thought i'd mention that i also love his cooking... not that i've had much of it, but i came over one christmas eve eve a couple of years ago and had cabbage soup while we watched clerks 2. it ruled. i miss being the kinds of friends who hung out on christmas eve eve and ate cabbage soup together. fuck this whole "life changes sometimes" thing.
We've been cooking a lot more often, though this is surely not soup season. He tells me the next big recipe he wants to tackle is his mom's chicken and dumplings. I have a hard time imagining that it can live up to the cabbage soup.
But yeah... I've been feeling that a lot lately, too. We're out of touch even with the people close by. It feels itchy and unsatisfying. I'm hoping getting music night going again will inspire some change. In our habits, if nothing else.
