summary: a drabble i wrote for the five acts meme - 'kissing' and 'fingers'. a 'missing scene' from The Beast Below. might extend it if i can figure out where it's going. first time writing for this pairing. <3 be kind. title suggested by the most awesome miintikwa.
They stood very still for a long moment and she held him through the last gasps of mourning for the things he'd done or almost done, helped him settle the weight of the star whale's near death on those too-thin shoulders.
Then his long fingers trailed gently across Amy's face, tracing the arc of her cheekbones for a breath-held second that she didn't (couldn't) break apart -
It burst open like a soap bubble, soft and silent. Then he was kissing her, his lips strange and cool against her own and when her tongue found its way into his mouth she found he tasted oddly sweet, of honey and oranges and some alien flavor that she poetically imagined was time. Those fingers tangled in her hair and when she pulled him closer a muffled 'oh!' sound, half-moan part-gasp, slipped between their tangled lips and she suddenly couldn't get close enough.
