Psh biscuits and cookies are different :( Cookies are the kinds that kids would prefer that are chocolatey and icingy and stuff and biscuits are plainer.

However neither of them are scones, so.

ah, okay - i see where i made the mistake. all the 'cookies' I like are biscuits. <3 or most of them.
and scones in the US are weird. they're not proper alien amorphous blob shaped scones, they're flat and triangular and the dough feels entirely different and it's just wrong.

Right now I am eating a giant chocolate chip cookie which is actually chocolate chunks not chips. nom nom nom. They used to be called the $1 cookie but they're like twice that with inflation now, if not more.

i just bought some chocolate 'chips' that are really mini peanut butter cups with an eye to making similar cookies. so yes, i know the type of cookie you mean.

*chuckling over volunteering urge*:D

I'm so glad Sean had a good first day!:)

Also glad about your sleep study results, and hoping that your new sleep protocol works out well. I am a notorious bed-reader. These days, though, I don't get the chance very often. Brett's in bed long before I am, so I don't turn on the light, but just play on the computer until I'm sleepy.

Er, in the UK, biscuits *are* what you call cookies. Baked flat sweet concoction, whether its plain as plain or has a cream filling, chocolate topping and sprinkles, its a biscuit. The fact the choc chip cookies are marketed as such doesn't stop them being part of the genus "biscuit".

And shortbread (the proper thick scottish kind) is shortbread. Its not a biscuit or a cookie. Its yummy :)
