I'm sorry the surgeon was useless :( but I'm glad the rheumatologist has a theory. I was looking at the diagnosis thinking, "Where have I seen that before?" and remembered that by coincidence, in one of my rare cases of putting something medical in a story, I had House diagnose it once! Are you getting a Schirmer tear test and rose Bengal stain?

*hugs hugs hugs*

boo for the orthopedist. but at least you don't need immediate surgery.... which is something. is the rheumatologist having a theory a yay? if so, yay. :D

as for my day, i watched/listened to inauguration coverage on msnbc.com for, like, six and a half hours today, which is more time than i've ever spent watching/listening to news. it's so exciting, tho.

Orthopedic surgeons are useless arseholes, especially when faced with us CP-ers. Never had a good one in my LIFE. Thirty years, two countries, three cities, and not ONE of them (or any of the dozens of physios) suggested orthepedic footwear. NOT FUCKING ONE! It took a podiatrist to ask WTF had I not been fitted with ortho footwear. There was the one ortho when I was 19 and my mother had the usual- since I could walk at 4 - complaint, "She keeps wearing through the toes of her shoes". This dickhead's response, and I quote "Try golf shoes".

Ahem. Issues, moi? ;-/

I am so sorry that there may be yet another condition that you have to deal with - how I wish there was a cosmic limit on how many medical conditions one person has to deal with.

I'm glad that at least the rheumatologist has some idea about what's happening. I hope that'll be resolved soon.

Co-morbid arthritis is quite possible. Autoimmune disorders tend to run together. :-( Still, diagnosis = good.
