I was just looking at those on the weekend and considering getting a pair for my mother (and perhaps myself, given that I wiped out walking to work the other day). I was thinking of adding them to a story as well :)

I've contemplating picking them up. Our local Plow & Hearth store sells them. We just don't get enough ice/snow to make them worthwhile.

I was going to buy a pair but a friend of mine warned me that they are difficult to get on and off - which doesn't seem like such a great idea for those with crappy balance. But I'd be interested in hearing what you think of them.
