i got out of bed and just about instantly started laughing/singing as i puttered around. why? it's cold! not really cold. it's sunny and beautiful but it's not 90 degrees out there today and it's not going to be. high in the low 70s today. 70s!!!! i'm giddy with delight and relief. the heat has not been kind to pregnant me this summer. i ( Read more... )

Anecdotally: Natty Bumppo's placenta was in the front and I didn't even feel him kick AT ALL until 21, 22 weeks or something, and he was absolutely FINE. And the kicks were definitely pretty muted (this is NO LONGER the case). Also, you are totally right--as it gets tighter in there, they do slow down ( ... )

it sounds like your doc had quite a reasonable approach to kick counts. this doc was like, you should feel it 10 times in 2 hours, on average, if not, call us and we will start the freak out process. i was like, dude, i just told you that the placenta's in front and i don't feel that much and never have. fortunately, most of my advice comes from the midwife, who is not worried and has said, if you don't feel it for a while, do something that usually gets results and see if you feel it then ( ... )

generally, i would say hugs > advice. at least these days when advice is coming fast and free and is not always super welcome.
