Looks like there's a shop in Austin, Austin Handmade, that's going to require investigation. Local artists selling all kinds of stuff, like comics, toys, clothes, music, and other assorted stuff that I don't need ( Read more... )

Neat!

Is Hog Wild still around? I liked that store, lots of old toys, posters and lobby cards, souvenir Star Wars glasses, records, and vintage clothing!

Then there was a neat antique shop across the street.

Yep, still alive and kicking. I picked up some great 50s drinking glasses there a few weeks ago.

And yes, this one is still there. The same day I last visited Hog Wild I grabbed myself a set of four Uno (the game) glasses at the shop across the street. I can't remember the name of that shop, though.

If that's the place I'm thinking of, it's definitely worth a visit. It's been a while since I've been to Austin. I need to get back there...

Off topic slightly, but have you been to www.etsy.com? It's essentially eBay but for handmade and vintage items only.

I've heard of it but I've never looked closely at the site. I'll have to do that this weekend, since I'm gonna be home alone until Sunday.
