If you ever thought of turning your powers to other venues, you could give King a run for his money. This is one of the most graphic and terrifying things I've read in a long time, and I've been meandering through the horror shelves lately. Wow.
This also makes me so sad for Dean. Kick-ass work.
If it's any consolation, I kind of terrified myself writing it. *grin* I'd suspect there was a lot of latent King as well as Clive Barker reading subconsciously coming through in this.
Thank you, thank you! It makes me happy that you liked it so much. :)
I'm really happy to see this. I think it is one of your more accomplished works not just because of the quality of writing but because of how far you pushed out of your comfort zone. I was hoping it would turn up on your journal sooner or later.
Wow, this is hard to read. I've read my fair share of hell!fic, and they make my stomach churn and go 'OH DEAN' but few have made me cry. This one did.
Aw, I'm sorry to have made you cry. It is a difficult story... it was difficult to write, caring about the boys yet also wanting to take on the original prompt and see where it lead. Thank you for reading.
Creepy and grotesque and terrifying, then it twists around to the end full of light and love and redemption. The visuals are amazing, as is the emotional ride. Like Sam, there were moments I forgot they were occupying a dream space - so visceral.
I'm really glad you felt that the love and redemption came through. It honestly made all that darkness and torment easier to write, knowing Sam would come to the rescue in the end. Thank you so much. <3
I always like your writing, but this piece is super strong for me - i think because you get so tight into Sam's head space and in a way that is completely believable.
Aw, I'm really glad you felt that way. Sam often seems a bit harder to get than Dean -- not that Dean's simpler or Sam's more complex. Maybe that Dean's less successful at hiding his true feelings, so there's a kind of transparency (or translucence maybe) that's easier to work with in fic.
