Hey :)

I cannot tell you how much I agree with you -- my DW-watching friends and I have all been saying the same thing, and we're sort of disappointed in SM at this point. We can only hope things will get better!

I just want to see some new material, not just re-mixes of previous characters.

I used to watch DW with my eyes glued to the screen. I watched this most recent episode in dribs and drabs, I kept pausing and going off to do other things (the worst being I went and watched 2 episodes of Flashfoward with Mum and Dad right at the climactic part).

I think I'll be buying season 4 on DVD this week so I can watch some good, exciting, riveting Who.

Man I hope it gets better.

I watched them all the way through and I was entertained, but it just seemed to be trying too hard. All episode 3 made me want to do is put in TEC/TDD for some good old barrage ballon fun.

I agree that I am not a fan of SM yet, he hasn't quite convinced me. I think Matt and Karen have fabulous chemistry together and really make me believe in 11 and Amy.

I agree there seems to be a lot of reusing going on ( I mean, even the Angels are making their way back). I would love to see something new and unique and not just a whitewash.

Oh, I think Matt and Karen are doing a fabulous job which is the reason I can enjoy the show. And I hope 11 and Amy are going to fabulous friends.

Yeah, Angels and River Song next week. Can we please have some new ideas in between the retreads?

the Clockwork Droids

that's it! because it was bothering me the entire episode why they look so damn familiar.

i like eleven, too; matt smith has made the role is own. ditto for amy, although the runaway bride-ishness bothers me a little. i understand why they wouldn't want a companion that has no/few ties and is free and clear to go wander right from the get-go, but there are host of reasons amy may need to return other than the one they chose.

You're going to annoy the adults and still go over the kids' heads.

exactly. don't make watching a chore for everyone. while i don't mind the callbacks, exactly, they seem to be coming at an alarmingly rapid pace. like, river and the angels are back next week. i want something shiny and new. soon.

have a good one :o)

My impression is that the ppl who are enjoying Amy and Eleven the most are ones who watched but didn't fangirl the RTD era - which makes sense.

RTD certainly had some decent ideas for all he had trouble with follow through. I think I just expected better from Moff since he has given us some wonderful episodes (TEC/TDD, Blink) and Eleventh Hour was a pretty strong opener.
