So very late, but here he is. lyoko_coder December 7 2009, 00:56:51 UTC
Jeremie frowned deeply as he read the latest report on his laptop. Did anyone he know end up in the middle of all this? Did anyone he know die?

He ground his teeth together before closing the message window. He didn't want to go out there, to be honest. Still, he'd received a general communication from Brainiac 5, and he'd agreed to assist when needed.

He packed up his laptop into his bag and slung the strap over his shoulder out of habit. XANA growled at him for going out into the line of fire, gaining enough control to twitch the leg scarred by the bullet wound from Train. He took a moment to grit his teeth until they hurt, pushing XANA back. If the situation looked bad enough, he'd risk giving it some control, but right now he didn't need to listen to its arguments. XANA was obsessed with its own self-preservation first and foremost.

Trowa shot some and stabbed others. He became that merciless killer he had been trained to be since he was but a boy. His mind calmed and he acted with precision and intellect. Men fell at his feet, he dodged the air blows and tried his best to work with Vekk and not against him.

The only thing to watch out for was the unpredictable and odd lightning blasts coming from the other side of them. He cast the boy a look. "Are you alright?" he didn't look it. Far from it, he looked like he was slipping under the influence of the ZERO system... and while he wasn't hooked up to it, it only meant something wsas wrong about him.

Vekk fell into Trowa's rhythm, slowing the attackers and practically channeling them to meet the business end of Trowa's weapons. He had no qualms about killing either. He'd done quite a bit during the whole mess with the Destroyers.

His eyes periodically glanced in the young blond's direction. There was something unnatural about the boy's attacks even if they weren't purple. It was worrisome but--for the moment--they'd use what they could.

Jeremie and XANA gave a curt nod. It was difficult for XANA to properly aim in this half-controlled state. It preferred being in charge in these fights, but Jeremie wasn't willing to completely surrender control. The teen was scared of what they could do together following the incident with Train.

Target. Charge. Fire. It was a steady pattern as the crazed humans kept pressing in on them.

Trowa met each and every enemy Vekk sent to him, downing them all with fluid efficiency. He'd done this too many times, is appeared. Too many for the common man perhaps, but it only made his job here easier. he and vekk had a nice system going on. And everything was both helped and hindered by the sporatic blasts of purple electricity from the boy.

He watched out his peripheral as the kid seemed to be falling into his own system. It seemed to be different from his and Vekk's. Maybe he would be an obstruction to them... he seemed to be losing it.

Vekk glanced at Trowa before nodding his head in the boy's direction. "Could be worse, really. Decent control for a beginner."

He'd seen aeromancer trainees hit each other instead of targets less than five feet in front of them. Good thing that the first spells one learned involved air purely with lightning added later.

He was mentally assessing the kid's abilities. It seemed he had the "lightning" aspect of aeromancy covered but none of the actual air part of it. Assuming, of course, that the boy was using aeromancy.

XANA finally wrestled full control from Jeremie, both eyes changing to show its symbol. It started separating itself from the two others with it. The boy's disregard for his own--and, thereby, XANA's own--personal safety was appalling.

Besides, it recognized the threat in the two strangers. Best to get some distance between them.

Blood and gore exploded from one target as XANA struck it soundly with a crack of lightning. The corpse smoked a little as it fell to the ground. Jeremie was merely an annoyance at the moment as he tried to regain control. Therefore, its aim was significantly improved. Along with its lethality.

Trowa nodded back. True enough. The blonde wasn't killing them on purpose of accident...yet.

Then something incredible happened. The boy seemed to change completely. Something in his eyes. His aim and power increased but more than that... his whole aura was different, his face, his coloring. Like he was holding back until this moment. He started to move away from him and Trowa had to hold himself back from following the kid. Being surrounded with enemies wasn't the best time to go wandering after the kid in mere curiosity.

But something was wrong... he didn't want to let him wander off, even though they really had no choice. More people were coming.

Vekk frowned deeply at that before focusing his full attention back on their attackers. Strange that the boy's level of control had suddenly spiked. While he probably should've been more concerned by the younger Human suddenly deciding to leave, he didn't comment on that. Whatever the reason for his sudden increase in ability, it gave him a better chance of surviving even alone.

Instead he continued to focus his abilities towards funneling their attackers towards Trowa. He was better suited towards crowd control than damage.

XANA continued blasting through the possessed invaders, choosing to slip away down one of the other alleys even as Jeremie continued to mentally scream at it to stop and assist the flautist and his long-eared companion. It had to survive and--as annoying as that was--it had to ensure Jeremie survived.

Trowa was well adapted to 'handling' enemies as needed, and readily met each 'infected' human Vekk sent to him with his weapons. He shot at a couple and beat the others away, clearing an area just wide enough to see the blonde kid make a bolt for it.

"Hey! Kid!" he called out but the boy was already gone. He looked to Vekk "Should we follow him?"

Vekk's attention flicked momentarily to the boy before turning back to their enemies. "Let him go. An untrained elementalist of any type is more of a danger than a asset. He's doing us a favor." Vekk grunted as he shoved another infected Human back. "We'll find him later."

He didn't specify about how they'd find him. Assuming the boy was smart, he might be a bit banged up but alive. Otherwise, well, they'd find his corpse.

Trowa noted once again how careless the Asura seemed to be sometimes. Any human he knew would surely run after that boy, but the brunette was actually just as pleased to let the blonde leave. He'd survive or he wouldn't. He and Vekk were busy right now.

"You need to get out soon too... you can't keep that up forever." he called to the Asura. Trowa was used to hours and days long battles. He could finish this alone.

"Careless" wasn't the correct term for it. Vekk had assessed the situation and decided that wasting energy was not the most productive course of action. Cold and heartless, maybe, but he knew Trowa wouldn't have too much of an issue with it.

Vekk flashed him a fast smirk. "Is this the part where I nobly proclaim that I won't leave you behind?"

He was already plotting an escape route, but he intended to pick one that Trowa could use as well. Even if they weren't friends, it'd be a considerable waste to lose such a valuable ally.

"Hmph." Trowa responded. "Say what you want, it's all cliche anyway." he swept his knife across the face of a violently angry man, who seemed to fall too easily for the energy of his outburst.

"I'll stay here, you go now!"

Vekk moved immediately, heading towards the best possible escape route for both. One enterprising maniac saw the movement and attempted to follow. However, Vekk was quicker. Not to mention that he summoned a gale force wind to send the man flying back, striking the attacker's head solidly against a dumpster which cracked it open.

He trusted Trowa to follow. From what he could see, the Human wasn't so suicidal that he'd stay back and fight to the death when there'd be so little to gain from it.
