Summary: Dick's going to take up the Mantle left behind by his mentor..whether he likes it or not.

The sun had just started to come to its highest point outside the complex walls, heating the city like a small oven. Dick Grayson was not outside however but inside the training room preparing for the night ahead of him.It seemed to him like he was getting to complacent there in Phase, his mind starting to forget the danger that lurked among them. It had taken Crane gassing the complex and Stephanie to make him realize just how much he had been letting his guard down. That was why right then he was training hard, blindfolded as he fought the targets around him concentrating on the sounds of them popping up yet he was so immersed in such sounds he failed to hear the snarled growl of his dog Bruce and the shuffling footsteps of an enemy he knew well but that was not on his mind as he fought.
The vigilante had much more pressing things on there, a weight if you will pulling him in two directions. After Bruce had died or in Tim's mind dissappeared he had wrestled with the choice to don the Cowl left behind by his mentor. It was a hard decision for him to say the least. Giving up his own mantle of Nightwing meant becoming the Batman in every way he could. The last time he'd done it he'd started to lose what he thought of as himself..but it seemed now as those shuffling feet got closer that the choice would be made for him. .
