I spent Saturday at Momocon, a free anime convention on the Georgia Tech campus. I had a great time, but their response to the weather left much to be desired. You'd expect a college campus to have better plans in place for events like this ( Read more... )

Oh dear god.. They gave me orders to move people to the IC building, which didn't make any sense, because by that time. it was raining it's ass off, and even hailing. I got caught in it, stayed in the IC building while it rained. and when it cleared, I hauled ass back to the Student center.

Yeah, and I LOVED how the staffer who announced that the tornado warning was over...FORTY MINUTES AFTERTHE WARNING HAD OFFICIALLY EXPIRED -- and herd us under a SKYLIGHT! Real bright there. Oh, well, no one's perfect, and we *did* have a couple thousand folks there. At least no one got hurt.

I got shoved into an alcove next to an ATM next to where that little Pizza Hut express was - right by the stinking windows!

And I was one of the morons playing in the fountain.
