I got myself one of those "easy-set" pools with the inflatable ring.  Not living up to the name.  I laid it out, and the first several times I tried to fill it the sides bunched and it wouldn't rise.  Once I finally got around that problem, I got it full to a few feet deep and it seemed to be going fine.  But then it rained, and one side overflowed ( Read more... )

I have a weather alert set up on my cell phone, and that's the message it gave.  I don't think it's a Severe Thunderstorm or a tornado, as if it were either of those it would say so.

Looking it up, it seems to be Severe Thunderstorm, only without the "severe" part.

Whatever it is, there seems to be one in this area now. 

I checked, and the state's still under water restrictions.  I can only water my lawn on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, between midnight and 10am.  I'm usually either asleep or at work during those times, and my yard sprinklers are only in the front yard, nowhere near the garden ( Read more... )

I spent some time on the phone with my_lady_gothic last night, reassuring her that I was safe after the tornadoes that hit Georgia yesterday.  It came out that they don't get tornadoes in her area, and she'd never had tornado drills in school.  She's also far enough inland and north to be safe from hurricanes.  They have icy roads and blizzards, but apparently ( Read more... )

It's thundering outside. I'd better get offline.

It's been raining all day. I managed a little shopping, and got soaked. With any luck this'll ease up the water restrictions, get the lawn growing again, and clear out the smog.

Since it's still raining, and my throat is a bit clogged, I won't be spending much time online tonight.

I don't think it's rained here this month. There have been wildfires in south Georgia, and the smoke sometimes gets all the way up here. It's crazy ( Read more... )

There are some big storms sweeping through the Southeast US, strting in Louisiana. I think I heard of flooding in Montgomery, Alabama. I'm safely at home, and so is the rest of the family. But I won't be staying online too long, since the power may go out, plus I still need some rest. Just making sure no one's too worried about me.
