dremiel posted her cornbread recipe, so I'm going to post mine. It's the most basic recipe ever, but I get tons of compliments whenever I make it. NOTE: I grew up using Three Rivers corn meal mix, but they don't make it anymore. Or, at least, I can't get it in Nashville anymore. :-( I use White Lily corn meal mix now, and it's just as good

It takes timmmme and loving care to get a new Cast Iron, well "treated". That's how it goes from metal colored cast iron to a "Black Iron Skillet". Just to brag a bit, my 10 inch round is so black that you can see your (vague) reflection in the bottom ( ... )
