Okay so I haven't posted any comments before because everything everyone else was saying...yeah, took the words right out of my mouth. I can honestly tell you that this is the story I look for to pop up in my LJ on a daily basis.

What you've done here with Dean breaking down and basically reliving certain moments of his training/conditioning is just so horribly painful and yet we see now much more deeply why he feels the need to pretend he's okay. He's broken worse than Sammy is. That extra time in really did a number on him. I love the last scene, of Sam being the one to bring John back into the equation, to settle Dean back into remembering family. The three of them all linked together on the floor is just beautiful, even if the whole reason behind it comes from such a twisted and painful breakdown. :D

OH oh... yes... this is what Dean needed... you could sorta see it coming... with the pretending and the trying to be strong for Sam... you could see it coming, that he was just going to really break again one day...

and Sam is just perfect, so worried and concerned, and just holding on to his brother, soothing and trying so hard but not really knowing if what he's doing is enough, and still so scared and broken himself, having to see Dean this way probably hurting him more...

and how neither he or dad still know what set it off at the end, but at least Sam is there with Dean. And dad.

I love how Dean needs Sam, reaches for Sam here... trusts Sam... Now Sam's right... Dean needs to eat something... maybe Sam can feed him. *g*

Oh Dean... and oh Sam... this chapter hurt so much, but it's progress, slow and as painful as it might be it's still progress, and it's still Sam and Dean trying... oh.. *cries*

John slid down to sitting, stretching his legs out to either side of Sam’s, encompassing his boys. Dean’s free hand slipped into Sam’s and he whispered Sam’s name. Sam nodded. “Dean and Sam and Dad.”

Oh. Oh. John and his boys, together they're all broken in some way, some more than others, but together they can get better.

Gabe and Caleb infiltrating the organization like this still has me freaking out. Even with reinforcments showing up is it enough to take Gorlian down? I'm sitting over here biting my nails about everybody making it out of this.
