You have so powerful imagery with your words that it truly does aim for the heart and has such deadly accuracy it hits with the first shot. I remember it well from the verse, and this just renewed the feeling.

This grabbed at my heart, it did. It's still trying to beat normally instead of cracked.

The next part is hard...in a lot of ways he's already started down the dark path...he's hit the wall...and he just doesn't know what to do next...

And what he does...isn't pretty....And I wouldn't expect it to be. Sam is willing (and capable - note Dean's belief that neither he or John would have even been able to *think* of the path Sam took) to do whatever is necessary to get Dean back - because he can't live with the alternative. Leaving Dean once "for his own good" (and Goddess spare me from *ever* hearing the equivalent in RL ever again) damn near killed them both. Never again. When Sam gets a whiff of a hint that Dean might still be alive? No holds barred, all out, full steam ahead - over, through, around and under whatever obstacles may bar the way ( ... )
