if you hadn't mentioned the 'who's using who' i wouldn't have given it a thought. it seems pretty clear to me :P mat and dan are both using jonny. mat is using dan too, and jonny's using some of mat (for dan) (but not mat directly, perhaps) to be round the circle.

i honestly can't see the confusion xD

I'm more curious about Mat and Jonny, to be honest. XD I think this Dan is dealing with his own issues but is least aware of what might actually be going on. But yeah. It's pretty twisted for him alright.

Yeah, they're definitely influencing me at this point. :P (don't tell me Dan really wants Mat. ack. that'd be interesting though...)

Hm, well then. I saw it as both Dan and Jon wanting Mat and using each other as a substitute. Cause even though Mat fucks Jon, it seems like Jon knows it's nothing more than a fuck - or at least he's convinced himself off that. So Dan and Jon just use each other out of their desire for Mat. And yet Mat can only see them together and hence his feeling of loneliness.

Did that make sense? I'm tired. Haha.

Okay. Mat used Jon, and since he wasn't using Dan, Jon allowed Dan to use him as a substitute for Mat. In this way, while things are chaotic and just as fucked up as anything else involving them, Jon wasn't so much being used as providing a favor. And I love how people act like using someone gives them some power over that person, because quite frankly, it's obvious that Jon had power over both of them. No wonder Mat felt lonely - his plaything was taking revenge on him by going to someone else as soon as they were done playing, and I could see where Mat suddenly realizes that Jon has more power over both himself and the two men he sleeps with than Mat could ever think to hold over Jon.

Ohhh I love you, haha. I like that theory. A lot. Mostly because there's other people totally convinced that Jonny is being used by both Mat and Dan. Definitely not, eh?

Though I have to admit that Mat, for me, totally gets off on seeing Dan use Jonny and then calling out Mat's name. If he should want more power over Jon, perhaps he'd better change his attitude. Then again, we don't really know Jonny's attitude either, so maybe Jonny is simply making it impossible (though question remains how aware he is of this - he seems pretty in denial of eliciting this all himself).

If I wrote a sequel, that would mean I'd have to choose which of all these theories is truth. XD It'd defeat the whole purpose!

I think Jonny just enjoys the fact that he's getting laid, especially since he's not into getting himself off. He doesn't care when it happens or by who, just as long as it happens. And I think he's more aware of the situation than people might think... particularly when he's with Dan, since there's the constant moaning of Mat's name, and you said Mat only came to him when there wasn't anything female or good-looking around, so eventually he's gonna put the pattern together and realize what's going on, even if he hasn't already.

LOL there's the next community challenge! You write the first few sentences, and the rest of the comm has to pick their theory and run with it. :)

Hahah I'm all for it! I don't think many people even read this one, though (and if they did, they didn't like it enough to comment, which is a bigger problem) so I'm not sure there'd be much ardour? But that would totally work for me to have other people write their own sequel idea.
