1) My housemates are officially insane. Or just mean. I can't really tell which. Last night, instead of turning the A/C off, they switched it to "fan" which meant it didn't actually cool anything, it just circulated the 90+ degree air in the house

2 - I don't know about with the AC on, but I go to sleep with my sliding glass doors open ALL the time so it can cool off in here overnight. Again, a wee bit different than for you because it was actually COOL. Clearly, the person you were talking about is indeed stupid. ;-)

Well, the thing is, we live in a sort of secluded, rich neighborhood, and I know for a fact (because my friend works at the juvenile courts now) that people break into those houses all the time. Hell, we had a break-in over Christmas at my old apartment only a few blocks away, and that was because we didn't lock the front door.

Yeah, whereas we're very rural and people don't tend to wander around much at night. I mean, 9 times out of 10, we don't even lock our door if we're not home for a couple of hours.

Oh, and I have a big, drooling guard dog, too. ;-)

Your housemates sound AWFUL! What is wrong with them???!!!???!!

I'm assuming you have to cover part of the power bill, so why do they keep turning off the a/c? Plus you live in Freakin' TX! It's not like you're in the Arctic where there's permafrost and the temp never gets over 80. It's July in TX. The door & windows should be shut. The freezer should be full of popsicles and there should be fans in each room to supplement the a/c (Supplement not Replace!).

Yeah, I don't know! They're insane. See, the thing is, it's a big, 3-story house. So there are 2 a/c units. One on the first floor, and one on the second. Everyone except me sleeps on the second or third floors, so of course *they're* fine, they have their own a/c unit. But they like to turn the one on the first floor off because their last electric bill was super high.

Um, OR they could just stop leaving doors and windows open!! The house would stay cool, it's covered by trees. IDIOTS.

Me too. He's so much more fun in these interviews than he normally is. I hate when he does interviews and he takes it all sooooo seriously.
