I was having a bit of a difficult night last night (after getting quite a lot done over the weekend), and so went to bed much earlier than usual. Sleep was the right choice, and I went under right away, a true rarity for this insomniac. Then at 1:30AM, my eyes snapped open, and there was a voice in my head saying:

Thanks for reminding me: When I was a young troopie in the Army I worked for a warrant officer who called everyone "podnah", regardless of gender.

I actually do have a story that's more or less literally a dream that was reprinted in Best American Fantasy Last Year. But it helps that it was supposed ot be trippy.
