I actually had one incident with E while bfeeding her on my side in bed where I fell asleep. I woke to her squirming - I'd leaned forward a little while dozing and my big boob had covered her nose as well as her mouth and I was suffocating her. Thank goodness for squirminess of babies, she woke me and my immediate movement gave her air. No lasting effects! But I was more careful after that.
Wow, that's pretty scary. I guess it would take a little practice to figure out how you can lie down so that you don't have to stay awake to ensure your boobs remain in the same position... actually I guess that's not so different, it took me a while to figure out how to arrange us so that I could feed her from the 'top' boob without worrying that I would fall forward and squish her with my whole chest.
