This was an amazing story. Very touching. I have never read David Copperfield but now I may have too. Btw love Beautiful Chaos, I was crying by the end of. It's really sweey.

Thank you very much. It's a shame there are so few DW novels which feature Donna, but at least BC captures her relationship with the Doctor very well.

David Copperfield is a wonderful book - I hope you enjoy it.

You see so beautifully into their lives together. And I thought Beautiful Chaos was wonderful, too. There were nowhere near enough Donna novels - Martha only did the one series but she got about three times as many.

BC does inspire stories - it started me writing "After the Storm."

I think we're in agreement on Dickens as well!

I wonder why there are so few novels with Donna (and one of them is crap!) - it's a real shame because Ten and Donna are so much fun to write. I think the DW authors really missed out there :-)

I didn't realise that about AtS. I keep meaning to re-read it; I must make more of an effort, clearly!

Anyway, thanks for reading and the kind words. I really struggled with this and am not 100% happy with it (not that I'm 100% happy with anything I write!) but I'd reached a stage where I just couldn't kick it around any more!

lovely :)

If I were more awake and less germ filled I might have more to say, but that will have to do for now

Oooh, this was like chicken soup for my Doctor-Donna-platonic-love soul. Came to grips with the realities of their situation without turning it into an angst-fest, and superbly in character as well. Wonderful job!

I'm really glad you liked it - thanks for reading. I appreciate the comment about the characterisation - it's very important to me and I do my utmost to get it right. It's good to know when it works :)
